Sweetgrass Productions is a film company dedicated to the art of snow. After touring across North America in their 1987 Dodge Colt, spreading the gospel of their first backcountry riding release Hand Cut, collaborators Nick Waggoner and Ben Sturgulewski are filming their second in the snow-drenched hills of Hokkaido, Japan. From the bright orange leaves of fall to the pink cherry blossoms of spring, the film will follow an entire ski season in one place, and the subtle changes in it’s mood, light, and snow. This is the- slightly censored- diary of their life on the frantic highway and the laid back woods of Northern Japan. Read on, and stay tuned for the film release September 2009.
